First lesson guide
What to expect from your first surf lesson
Know what to bring, how the lesson usually flows and how to arrive ready for the water.

Your first lesson, step by step
A good first lesson removes guesswork. You should know where to meet, what to bring, how your guide will communicate and what may change with the ocean conditions.
Read your confirmation before leaving, arrive ready to move and ask questions whenever something is unclear.

Before you arrive
Check the meeting point and arrival instructions in your confirmation. Bring swimwear, sun protection, water and anything else listed for your lesson.
On the beach
Your guide introduces the equipment, body position, basic movement and the signals you will use in the water.
In the water
Stay close to your guide, listen for direct coaching and expect the practice area or pace to change with conditions.
After the lesson
Ask what went well, what to practice next and which lesson path makes sense if you want to continue.
